Terry and Vince's 50th Birthday Cake

This cake took alot of time and patience!!!! Oh and drying time, the squash racket, wine bottle, bacardi bottle and cricket bat were all individually shaped and painted from regal icing. I cheated with the macaroon and cheese lump (tescos' thou art my saviour!!!) once made and dried the items were arranged using a ridiculous number of cocktail sticks on the top the fruit cake. Oh the cake itself was a fruit cake with marzipan and fondant icing. Then lastly the black writing occured, taking many attempts on a plate first!! and finally black rosettes were added and studded with silver balls!!! it took an age!!!!

George's Skateboard Birthday Cake

This is another cake from many moons ago, I made this one for my brother George's Birthday. Back in the days when he was still into skateboarding, rather than x-box vegetation.

Again I can't remember exactly what the cake was, my memory is truly awful! But I am guessing that it was a simple vanilla sponge cut into a oblong shape with a smaller brick wall underneath. Then decorated using coloured fondant icing and silver cake paint. The trickest part was getting the cake to rest on top of the wall without breaking in the middle!!
